It's been a long time since I have heard from or about most of you. I bet everyone else is thinking the same thing. Has anyone moved? Have you had another baby? Entered witness protection? Joined the Coast Guard?
We are doing pretty well. Gus started crawling last week and opened up a whole new world of possibilities. For him he can move from place to place and discover new things and see the world. For us it's now a neverending game of keep up with Gus. He's really wearing us out but it's all really great. Monica and I are both so proud of him every time he learns or tries something new. It's all fun and excitement right now.
I'll try to get some pictures up as soon as Gus sleeps. it may be a couple of weeks! :)
Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Don
Just to let you all know Don had a heart attack and stroke last weekend. He was in St Johns locally then transported Monday to Shawnee Medical Center where they did a heart cath. There were several blockages. Yesterday they put 4 stints in and as of this moning he seems to be doing okay and might come home. Shirley stopped by on her way down and said he had some seepage from the plug. I am sure that he will be glad to be home. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Enjoying all the family news!
I have really enjoyed reading about everyone, and I feel like there are so many more of you I know about through what Quentin has shared with me. I would love to hear about what is going on with all of you and this is such a great venue to do so! My family emails each other but I really think this blog idea would be even better! Not much has changed since Quentin's last email about what is going on in our lives. Of course the baby is doing great....growing by leaps and bounds which means it is kicking harder everyday. :-) We have 3 months to go come Friday. I can't believe it! I would love to see everyone at the family reunion this year depending on when it is...hopefully late July early August! This way you can meet Baby H also! Well I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy and I'll keep checking back for more family info.

No News
It's been at least a couple of weeks since I've posted anything here. Things have been anything but routine at our house. As most of you already know having a baby for the first time comes with all kinds of new experiences. I have been going along with Monica to all of her visits to the doctor and have been reading up on all that is involved not only in a pregnancy but with becoming a parent. We have been painting, putting furniture together, learning about babies, practicing with other people's baby's, and watching her stomach grow by leaps and bounds. We felt the baby kick for the first time a couple of weeks ago and even saw it move for the first time last week. What was once entertaining has become a bit of a nuscience for her though from time to time so it looks like the next three months are going to be a little uncomfortable. But, she looks great and we are doing everything that we can to make sure she is comfortable enough to sleep and that she's getting everything that she and the baby need.
Last weekend we took a road trip to get away from everything and just be alone before the baby is born. We went to Omaha and were able to check out the Old Market area and had a great time eating lunch on the patio of a cafe in what had to be close to 80 degree temperatures. We mostly just wanted to spend together for the last time bofore the baby is born so we promise that we will call you John and Karen the next time we go to Omaha and will get together for a visit. This time was our first visit there and we really liked the city. If any of you have the chance and haven't been there it's a great place to visit and most everything is within walking distance of a hotel and downtown. There are more great resturaunts than you can imagine and there are so many shops to go into that it probably can't be seen in a day. So, go and visit Omaha and when you're there give John and Karen a call.

We had Wyatt and Melia's Birthday parties together this weekend at the skating rink. I thought that maybe Wyatt might be left out but he had a great time. Melia is getting so big I can't believe that she had been a part of our family for 4 yrs. She will be 6 next Saturday she is in kindergarten and has come so far. Wyatt just turned 2 and there is no stopping him. He thinks he can do anything. Then there is Jeffrey Of course he doesn't do much of anything right now eat sleep and mess his pants. It is good to seen the rest of the family getting involved on this blog should be able to keep in touch this way. take care everyone.

Hi from the Stephens Family
Boy there is so much to write....but I will try to keep it brief. And just so you know I am no good at doing this so the first couple of these probably will be bad. But I will keep you updated. Lets see where to start...I will start with Me. I am still going to school. I have been attending Baker College since June of 2003. I have been successful with keeping my major in Human Resource Management and a minor in Marketing. But since I started attending I came out with an Associates degree and a Bachelors Degree. I am working on my Masters degree now. And than after that I think I am going to be finished for a while. I said by the time Elijah (who is now three) would start school I would hope to have most if not all of the schooling done. So far so good. I am attending a Marketing Class right now. It should be interesting. But hey all the classes I have taken have been interesting. The more classes I take the harder they get. But I do believe that is how it is supposed to be. Ummm lets see what else. I work at Intercall. Intercall is a conferencing center. I have been there since April 2006 so almost 3 years. I know not very long but that is a start. I am a trainer there. I absolutely LOVE IT. I train mainly agents who work from home on our system. It is fun, well as long as the person on the other end knows how to operate a computer. I have had people who actually will call me or email me and ask me "How do I turn my computer on". I hate to be the bad guy and tell them, if you can't do that, than you will not be able to do this job. So for those of you who remember me growing up saying I am going to do something that involves me TALKING all the time...well guess what you were so right. Because I talk almost every day the entire time.
So enough about me lets get on to the kids....Jesseca, she is doing well. SHe is my little clone. Everything she does reminds me of a myself as a kid. I know that is scary. But hey it should be interesting, besides I wasn't THAT bad of a kid. I just was being myself. Jesseca has so many hopes and dreams. I can't wait for her to continue to grow and keep talking about those dreams that someday she will be able to achieve. Jesseca currently lives with her dad so I don't get to see her but every other weekend and a month over the summer. But when we do get to spend time together it is very fun. She is so smart. She is doing good in the fourth grade. I am still trying to accept the fact that she will be 11 in December. Where did the time go?? They grow so fast.
Mackenzie- She is 7 now. She will be 8 in May. And you know she reminds me every single day from January 1st on how many days away her birthday is. It is kinda funny. Mackenzie has a personality on her let me tell you that. She is SPOILED just as my other kids are. She loves to take pictures, even on a bad hair day. She is all about making herself look cute. She won't leave teh house until she is "CUTE". So that is definately interesting. She is growing so much. Jesse is still the tallest but Jesse is a toothpick(just like her mommy used to be) but Kenzie has a little more curves to her. So she rubs that into Jesse. I guess girls are always going to be girls. Kenzie is doing great in school. She is excelling in every class except for gym. That is right I said gym. She absolutely DISLIKES that class alot. She doesnt' understand why she has to exercise or anything. I think it is humerous. But if a seven year old could get a grade in gym she would get an F. But oh well. She excels in everything else.
Madyson- She is 5 now. She will be 6 in June. She is enjoying school. She is struggling a little bit. But no worries it is not anythign that I cant tackle. Because I know she can do it, she just needs it explained to her a little more. she is in Kindergarten this year. She is in that last with James (Junior) (my nephew, Stephanie's oldest son) and she will always come home and give me updates on him. I think it is funny. And if he gets into trouble she will tell me about it.
Last but not least Elijah- He just turned 3 in December. Not much to say about him except he is all boy and LOVES TO TALK. Don't know where he got that from.
Billy is doing good too. I dont want to forget to mention him. He is still working and trying to help take care of the family. He has definately grown accustomed to the family thing, even if he hasn't met half or even a quart of the family. I try to keep him updated. The family that he does know, he usually keeps me updated. If that tells you about the type of person he is.
OKAY now that I wrote a book. HOPE everyone enjoys this for their reading pleasure. I hope the next one wont be so long.

Family Tree
Hi everyone,
I've recently been working on completing an online family tree. I have a pretty good start but I am short a few things. I am unsure of the ages and dates of a few people and I really don't have a listing of any one's birthdays at all. I would also like to go a little further back and try to list great grand parents and even further if anyone has this info. I plan on having it all completed or at least a pretty complete working copy very soon so that I can post it here for everyone to see. If you have a listing of birthdays or would be willing to help compile one I would love to hear from you.
Just another reminder, replying to one of the emails that is sent automatically by this site will not post your comments to the blog. To do so you must go to the blog and post the comments. If you are having trouble and would like some assistance in getting on the site or using it you can email me at quentinjhoffman@yahoo.com or call me at (913) 624-4930 and I would be happy to try to help. As of now we still have not heard from any of the Powells in Missouri or Illinois so if any of you talk to these people or if you are one of these people we would all love to hear from you on here and even see some pictures if you have any.

Powells in THe great city of Leavenworth
Hello from Leavenworth... We all seem to be fairly busy. John and Karen with their new addition, Monica and Quentin with their upcoming blessing and our newest family member Jeffrey. He sure is cute. Everyone doing fine and waiting for the end of winter!! This is really a good idea. I am not the best on computers and Jim is even worse. I hope we will always stay in touch either through e-mails or other means. E-mail seems the best way to get in touch with everyone. Hope everyone has a great NEW YEAR!!!
Email addresses
I was just trying to invite everyone to join our blog and I realized that I am missing quite a few addresses. If you could please forward anyone's address that you have to me I would really appreciate it.
Also, I have another blog that you can look at if you want to see how these things can work. The address is: http://monicaandquentin.blogspot.com/ Check it out.

Welcome!!!
Welcome all of you who either by birth, marriage, association, dumb luck, drunken misdeeds, or circumstances beyond your own recollection, call yourself part of the Powell family. I have decided to start this blog so that hopefully we can share pictures, current events, pleas for bail money, invitations, warnings, or just about whatever you want to post. It is very easy and you can log on whenever you want to read, leave a message, add pictures, or share something. It is much easier than trying to gather emails and it is something that you can do at your convenience.
For those of you that like to lay low because you are wanted by the FBI or just because you don't want to give out your email, you can choose not to display any personal information and no one will have your email address or anything that you choose to keep private.
So, it will be good to hear from all of you!
